Pattaya is receiving Monumental Movement in Education


The doors God opens no one can close.
When the Spirit moves, what do YOU do? 
I am excited to report great movement in the development of education for Thailand and specifically the city of Pattaya. It's a week of great progress for movement for Lighthouse Community School, Pattaya City.

DOOR #1
I attended two conferences in Chiang Mai for Christian Education in Thailand, one for National Thai Schools and one for International Schools. The Lord opened these doors in answer to prayer after discovering the conferences were happening at a time I would already be in Chiang Mai and on days that I was available to attend. I only discovered them a week before they were to happen and the cost for registration was well out of my ability to pay. 

DOOR #2
BUT God opened yet another door to cover the costs! 

I thank Lisa Reither, Tim Shuman and the event planning team at ASCI for sponsoring me for the registration for the 2 days that I was able to attend the International Children's Education Conference (ICEC) 2012. In addition, I would like to thank Thanom Pinta from CCT for carrying the cost for me at the "Seminar for the Partners in the Educational Ministry of Christian Schools in Asia and the Pacific." 

I had been praying the week before on how to get a chance to visit with so many phenomenal leaders in Education in Thailand, and instead of me going to all of them at each of their schools, God brought them ALL to two places for me! Praise the Lord that He opened the doors!!!

DOOR #3
God opened the doors at the the conference to allow me to hear from leaders in the Christian Education circle from all over the WORLD, especially in ASIA and the Pacific. God, also, opened the door to share our vision with people that were ecstatic to see the hand of God move in this area! 

Glory to God in the highest! 

DOOR #4
The Lord also opened the door to FOLLOW-UP and visit two schools, some of their officials and visionaries for Education in Thailand after the conference was finished and again confirm the Lord's word that this is already written on the hearts of God's children. We want to open doors for children to have an Exceptional education
where they can think critically about their world and their role in it! 
THE VISION: 
I have had this passion for 12 years, since I first came to Thailand, and saw the immense need for someone to advocate and give children in Pattaya the tools to break through the cycle of poverty, Abuse, exploitation, poor health, mis-education or no education. Let's advocate for Children at Risk in Thailand and revolutionize Education with the tools that the Lord started the world with, a desire to have a relationship with Him.
"I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit ...And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." Eph 3:16-20 
 We desire to bring Light to the darkest places.

 Being a Lighthouse is to bring light, to warn of impending danger, to lead others along the safe route and to serve as a refuge, a center of safety for the community that surrounds that Lighthouse.

Why Pattaya?

The need there is critical. Known as the sex-tourism capital of the world, children are at risk. We want to bring Freedom. There are only two Thai school in the entire system that go to grade 12. We want to give them a Vision. There are NO Christian Schools in the City. We want to give them HopeTo start in the darkest place. They deserve a chance to break the cycle of risk and have an exceptional education.

We are also looking at revolutionary schools like Grace International School in Chiang Mai for the community they foster, the wisdom and depth of character in their Leaders and their school Board. We are considering a structure like the open-classroom at Northern Beaches Christian School and the Sydney Centre for Innovation in Learning. We also see the value of the Integration of Thai Culture and competitive curriculum like that at Varee Chiang Mai School.  

We want to be partnering with innovative Thai Christian Private Schools like 
The School of Promise in Chiang Mai, Director Joel Vander Kooi
for ideas wisdom and taking on much needed Curriculum Initiatives to produce a Thai Christian curriculum for K to 12. 

We want to partner with innovative Foundations like Hand to Hand who is already on the ground in Pattaya running a pre-school for the at-risk community. 

We also want to partner with organizations like ARK International, who advocate for Children at risk by running leadership development programs; do community development in the slums; provide an in-school program called Safe Child, to reduce the risk of abduction in vulnerable communities; Friday night Youth Worship; and a Rugby Academy in Bangkok that competes Internationally.

PARTNERSHIP will OPEN the NEXT DOORS: 

We need your help! As the administrative and staff of Teachers and support is forming, the need is there -- there are not enough Thai schools that go to grade 12 for all the Pattaya students and NO Christian Schools for the traditional Thai student. There is much needed preliminary resources.

WE NEED you to pray and pray specifically for the School Board to form, for the Thai and International Teachers to catch the vision and want to take this risk of starting something brand new and Transformational. 

We need prayer for land and a Building. Open Classroom Furniture. School Supplies -- textbooks, lab equipment. So much more. ALL of this WILL be accomplished through the power of Prayer. 

He has equipped me, an unexperienced but passionate, Advocate for Justice and Education, to take this on with like-minded Thai nationals and Foreign residents all around! Won't you prayerfully consider being a part?

This is beginning, He is leading -- please consider being a part!  Our approximate beginning costs will be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. What we are asking is for a team, a family, a church, an individual to sponsor one CHILD for 2 school years! We have estimated the cost at $1,500 per year, that would be $3,000. Or if you are a ministry or parent in the Pattaya area or just concerned with the availability of excellent education for the Thai people, we are also offering an opportunity to be a Sponsor for the project, beginning at an initial yearly investment of $5,000.
