Making A Big Difference

You never realize your dreams really can come true. Putting them in the hands of God was one of the hardest thing I had ever done. From the skyline of Vancouver, Canada then the the our BIG little area of Tri-Cities in Washington State to the view of the lines of sky that I have been blessed to see in the last 4 years serving to extend the Kingdom full-time, I am constantly humbled that the Lord is blessing me with the opportunity to take flight again and again. The first big trip, after fishing in a successful, in wordly terms, career job for 13 years and still missing "it" , The Lord kept saying, "Come, I will show you how to fish..." It took me 3 years to obey. And in 2004 I quit my 6 figure job to go to follow that command. As we are called to go "... in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Letting God Lead

God did something great today. Worship was amazing, but I heard the voice of the Lord encourage me to leave a little bit early. As I was leaving, two of our students were outside the worship room. I asked them why they weren’t with the children or the adults, but they really didn’t have an answer. So I gave them a choice. I asked each of them what they preferred, being with the adults or being with the children. The younger boy said he wanted to be with the adults because his mom was in there, so I sent him back inside. The older boy said he would rather be with the children so I walked him down to the children’s room. He hesitated as we entered the door. At first I tried to force him to go in, but the Lord told me to stop. I listened to the Lord. I saw this little boy with a new kind of compassion. He wasn’t just a child who needed to be controlled, he was a child of God just like me. I saw him as God saw him. A child who needed to be heard. Immediately a w...

It's All About Jesus...

My uncle asked me a really good question last night: What am I learning about myself to show how God is fashioning me into the image of His Son (Romans 8:29)? My answer is simple to such a huge question. After trying to answer the question several times last night, with long stories about the victories that God has given me this year in my 1 year sabbatical with the amazing adventures He has taken me on, the incredible people He has put in my life, and the unbelievable opportunities He has provided me with, yet each time my debrief replies seemed to disappoint him. Then my uncle told me, after about 20 minutes of talking, I still hadn’t answered the question. I think he was looking for an answer I hadn't been able to answer because I needed to listen to him first.
